AskGIZA
Ask questions about Excel and CSV files
AskGIZA lets you ask questions about uploaded spreadsheets in plain language. Find the relevant figures and supporting rows, compare values, and connect your Excel or CSV data to the explanations in documents and meeting recordings.
Ask the question behind the spreadsheet
Spreadsheets often contain the numbers you need without the explanation. Ask which accounts appear in an exceptions list, where spending differs from budget, or what changed between the periods represented in your file. Identify the workbook, sheet, date range, and currency in your question to make the scope clear.
- Which accounts have overdue invoices in this sheet? Cite the supporting rows.
- Compare approved budget with planned spend. Show the calculation.
- What does the review recording say about the exceptions in this workbook?
See the numbers and the assumptions
Illustrative example: a workbook lists a $90,000 approved budget, $78,000 planned spend, and $6,000 per week of delay. A one-week delay gives $84,000 total spend and $6,000 remaining. AskGIZA can explain that calculation with the source reference. Check the underlying cells and whether the estimate includes every relevant cost.
Prepare your Excel or CSV file
Use clear column headings and include units, dates, and currency where they matter. Distinguish totals from detail rows so they are not counted twice. State whether a question covers one sheet or several. After uploading, wait for indexing and inspect the supporting rows before relying on an answer.
Connect figures to the reason behind them
A sheet can show a delay cost; a meeting recording may explain why the delay was approved, and a diagram may show the dependency causing it. Put those files in the same workspace and ask a question that names the decision you need to make. AskGIZA retrieves relevant evidence; it does not replace Excel’s calculation engine or edit your workbook.
Frequently asked questions
Can I chat with an Excel spreadsheet?
Yes. Upload a supported Excel file and ask questions about the indexed content. You can inspect the spreadsheet references supporting the answer.
Does AskGIZA support CSV files?
Yes. CSV files can be indexed alongside Excel workbooks, documents, images, and recordings.
Will AskGIZA run formulas or edit my workbook?
This workflow searches and answers questions about indexed spreadsheet content. It is not a spreadsheet editor or a substitute for recalculating and checking formulas in Excel.
